Weekend Arts Roundup: Dance, Drama, and More

- DiSiac's fall dance show, Flux, is this weekend's must-see event--their fall performances almost always sell out, and it's one weekend only, so get your tickets early at Frist or at McCarter. - The Princeton University Orchestra's all-Shostakovich winter concert is featuring piano legend Ignat Solzhenitsyn, who will perform Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the orchstra and will also conduct Shosty's 8th Symphony. If you're a fan of classical music, all things Russian, or jsut nerdily famous people in general, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance. Friday and Saturday at 8pm, Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall. Tickets $8, student events eligible.
- If you missed them last weekend, it's not too late to see Floyd Collins at the Lewis Center for the Arts or Garden District at Theatre Intime. Floyd runs Thursday and Friday at 8pm, with a 2pm Saturday matinee; Garden District will play 8pm Thursday-Saturday nights, and will also have a matinee at 2pm on Saturday. Student tickets $8 for both, available in Frist; student events eligible.
- The Princeton University Rock Ensemble's I Love Rock and Roll concert is sure to be a hit; 8pm Friday and Saturday in Frist Film and Performance Theatre. $10, student events eligible.
- If you're looking for a way to overcome that hungover post-Formals stupor, the University Wind Ensemble's winter concert is just the trick, with crowd-pleasers from composers like John Williams. 3pm Sunday, Richardson Auditorium at Alexander Hall; student tickets $6, student events eligible.
