Former NYT Executive Editor Jill Abramson Speaks at Princeton

Last Thursday, the University Press Club was honored to host former Executive Editor of The New York Times, Jill Abramson, on campus to give a lecture titled "In Defense of Leaks: Why a Free Press Matters More in the Age of Terror," in which she discussed the role of government leaks in American history, and her own experience in senior management roles at the Times throughout her career.The talk was the Press Club's annual Louis R. Rukeyser '54 Memorial Lecture, a series that brings prominent journalists to speak on campus every year in the memory of the economic and financial journalist, Princeton graduate, and former Press Club member, Louis Rukeyser.
