Weekend Arts Roundup: This is Our Youth, Illyria, and More
Welcome back to campus, everybody! This weekend is one of the term's busiest for arts events--with great theater, music, and dance everywhere you turn, the hardest thing will be choosing which performances to see! Here's our cheat sheet for what's in store:- This is Our Youth, a story of Upper-East-Side twentysomethings in the 1980s, produced by Theatre Intime and directed by Chris Ghaffari '12. - Illyria, a musical adaptation of Twelfth Night by Pete Mills '95 and Cara Reichel '96, co-produced by the Princeton University Players and Princeton Shakespeare Company (and directed by yours truly!). November 11-13 at 8pm, 13-14 at 2pm, Matthews Acting Studio at the Lewis Center for the Arts. Tickets $8, student events eligible.
- Good Person of Setzuan, the fall production from the Department of Theater. Friday-Saturday, November 12-13 and 18-20 at 8pm, Berlind Theater at McCarter Theatre. Tickets $8 at Frist.
- If you're an a cappella fan, catch the Tigressions Jam--it only happens once every four years! 8pm Friday, November 12, Alexander Hall in Richardson Auditorium. Tickets at Frist.
- Diwali Celebration, featuring the University Chapel Choir and various faculty and students. Saturday, November 13: 7:30-9:30pm, University Chapel. Free.
- PUJE: Jazz at Cafe Vivian, Thursday, Nov 11, 2010,11:30 p.m. Frist Campus Center, Featuring University Horace Silver Ensemble (Ralph Bowen, coach). Free.
- Colorado String Quartet sponsored by Princeton University Concerts, Thursday, Nov 11, 2010, 8:00 p.m. in Alexander Hall at Richardson Auditorium.
- Princeton University Chamber Ensemble Fall Concert, Sunday, November 14, 3pm in Rocky Common Room. Free, with refreshments following the concert.
