Jack Bauer will headbutt you to defend Brooke Shields' honor

After Jack Bauer headbutted Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough at an afterparty for the Met Costume Institute Gala last week, Brooke Shields '87 came to his defense--Wait. Can we repeat that?Jack Bauer headbutted someone. And broke his nose. McCollough needed surgery.Anyway, apparently both Kiefer Sutherland and Jack McCollough are friends of Shields, who was a member of the Triangle Club and Cap and Gown. That's awkward.E! reports that Sutherland was perhaps acting to protect Shields' honor, though we can't imagine what McCollough did to deserve a 24-style headbutt.Oh, wait. Sutherland thought that "the designer had somehow slighted Shields." So he broke his nose. This is why one in five Americans believe torture is OK.Though a rep for her first said that McCollough had done nothing wrong, Shields is now singing a different tune, according to TMZ.

Brooke says the statements attributed to her "are neither true nor authorized." She goes on, saying she "was bumped into by Jack McCollough and Kiefer Sutherland became concerned." As we reported, Brooke told friends the day after the incident she was "jostled" by Jack and fell.

Update:In quite an awkward position -- What do you do when one of your friends breaks the other's nose? --Shields is now saying that her fall was a result of her 6'' heels, says TMZ.Smooth. So Friend 1 bumped into her, but it wasn't his fault that she fell. And Friend 2 headbutted Friend 1, but it wasn't his fault because he totally thought that Friend 1 had pushed her! You see? Everything's OK! It's just a misunderstanding! Now please don't send my friend to jail.
