How hard can it be to run an election?

If election hijinks are your bag (you're out there, I know you are!) then the past year of USG fun has been a field day. After last semester's USG VP debacle (Ivy Gate!) we were hoping for a nice, quiet election cycle this time around. As usual, we were disappointed. Queue up the email!

Dear Students,Some votes were cast before the official opening of the USG elections yesterday. Any votes cast before this time were not recorded.

Was there a soft opening? Were they running a beta version of the election just to work out some bugs? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! We're going to go vote three times, just to make sure our votes count. Stay tuned for the inevitable revote...
